Our Story

Paul qualified as a Marine Mechanic in 1992, performed boat fit-outs for a year and in late 1993, became self-employed after completing an Alarm Installers Training Course.

Paul's Auto Security Service serviced both the private and commercial sectors and be the end of 1998 became Installations Services & Training Manager for Marlows Auto Parts & Accessories Fitting & Service Centres. 

 

Paul designed and implemented Australia's first Nationally Accredited Immobiliser Installation Course, whose attendees included The Department of Transport.

 

He oversaw installers in 25 workshops in 3 states and consulted for Insurance Firms with Claims for Stolen Vehicles. 

 

By 2001, Paul was promoted to Senior Service Manager, overseeing all Marlow's Western Australian workshop Installers, Workshop Managers and Mechanics.

 

Wanting to pursue his passion for Recreational Vehicles, Paul partnered with his wife Kylie to form Install A Gadget 2002.

 

Paul’s reputation for knowledge and work ethic saw Install A Gadget become an instant success.

Always in high demand, the business has grown to include son Jake who passed his Traineeship in 2018 with exemplary results.

​

Jake is a Licensed Individual Motor Vehicle Repairer and an integral part of Install A Gadget and the future of the business.

 

Keeping the book keeping and marketing cogs of Install A Gadget well oiled is Pauls’ wife Kylie who brings order to this busy business using her high-level organisational skills and creative flair.

With a background in Advertising, Marketing and Print, Kylie also keeps the business Websites and Social Media posts and enquiries up to date.
