Looking for some off grid and off road adventure, Steve bought his converted four wheel drive Mercedes Sprinter Motorhome to us back in 2020, to power his experiences. To keep him on the go, we installed a custom RV Lithium Systems (RVLSA) 300Ah Lithium system, featuring:

  • A 3000VA Victron Multiplus with built in 120A, 240V Charger

  • A Victron Cerbo and Touch 50 Display for ease of viewing all Victron components and the ability to perform remote monitoring and servicing when on WiFi

  • 320 Watts of roof solar with a Victron MPPT 50A Solar Controller, plus an external solar connection for adding in a portable panel

  • A Custom 100Ah RVLSA Vehicle DC Charger

For safety and communications, we installed a Uniden UHF radio, Dash Camera and a Cel-Fi Go which is a licensed mobile signal booster. Adding to the convenience of CelFi Go we fitted the van with a custom electric lift bracket for the roof antenna...check out the video below....

More recently, Steve added a trailer to accommodate additional supplies and fridges.

The trailer had an existing Redarc BMS1230 The Manager30 which is a dual battery management system, two 120Ah AGM batteries and a 60L Engel fridge, plus Steve wanted to run another 40L Engel fridge.

Our solution was to add two Victron 185W Solar Panels fixed to the roof, which were wired in to the Redarc BMS and a second Engel fridge point into the right side external compartment.  The BMS previously had only an external solar input for Steve's portable panels.

In addition to the trailers own solar charging, we equipped the Sprinter with a 50A Anderson plug so the trailer can plug in and utilise the BMS1230 DC (Vehicle) charging system and charge from the Sprinter when in transit. Perfect!
